this pretentious diatribe

Entry Two: 01/29/2010
I would just like to assure all of you that being homeless is very little like camping. To put this more into context, I have read articles on ehow and other places where people want you to think of homelessness like it is an extended camping trip (I linked you to my ehow site, you can find MY homeless articles there if you are interested). Homelessness is NOT an extended camping trip. I've been rather lucky in my time of being without a roof, I had the presence of mind to get my stuff into a storage unit and I have no qualms about sleeping where there is no heat directly warming me. I thank my experience in Boy Scouting for that.
I intend actually to write more homeless articles when I am no longer homeless as I will most certainly be reflecting on the time I spent in that way, and you will likely see my posts about them in future blog entries.
One of the ways I've spent my time between apartments is through freelance writing. I was very lucky that not long after I lost my job I was able to find a stellar agency to serve my needs. The Writers Rep has provided me with articles consistently over the past eight months and I've never been dissatisfied with their dealings or their payment schedule.
Furthermore, I've suggested over 20 people interested in starting a freelance career to join up with them. Keep in mind folks, I don't give my praise lightly, so you know that the people at TWR really deserve it. My personal agent, Heather, has been nothing if not patient and helpful in my transitory months since my termination. She has really been showing me the ropes of making a good living online. I might not always have been the best student, but she has been the best teacher I could ask for.
I would also like everyone to keep in mind, I am very quickly approaching the release of my next two books, Erosis Rose and A Warrior's Destiny: Red. I'm actually supposed to be doing the photo shoot for Erosis Rose this weekend with my pal Winston, who is an aspiring photographer. Though setbacks have plagued the production of both projects, I'm confident they will both be on the way to release (if not in stores) before the summer.
I packed up all of my nonessential items in my storage unit today. So when my family arrives in a couple weekends we can just load up my stuff and get out of here quick. It's not that I don't love Ann Arbor, I just need to move on. I've needed to move on for a few months now. I've caught myself up in things that are just draining my energy when I needed to be focusing that energy on writing. This weekend, in fact, my brother is getting a computer ready for me to set up in my new residence and you can bet I will be up at all hours of the night writing my ass off for the next A Warrior's Destiny novel and countless other projects I have needed to work on.
That's all for now, I will see you next week for another exciting installment of this pretentious diatribe.
I love you all,
Az
